My best investment this year? Hands down, the purchase of four, new Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires. Great tires get you through our winters and these babies are awesome.

Sure my 2004 BMW 325xi sport wagon has all-wheel drive and all the glory of German engineering, but it's my Michelins that made the drive to work -- through 13 inches of blowing snow -- this morning a breeze.

I had Hakkapeliitta winter tires on my old 1996 328i, and they were fine on that rear wheel drive ride. But, these tires even accelerate on ice and plow through deep snow like nobody's business. Old man winter, eat my snow.

Need a last minute gift that will make your winter driving carefree and even fun? Ask Santa for some X-Ice Xi2 tires. You will not be disappointed.
