A Louisiana-based family restaurant franchise heading to Milwaukee’s East Side might have people saying “wow” when they’re hungry.

West Allis’s Lane Manning owns the Milwaukee franchise and is looking to bring the “world of wings” to Farwell Avenue. According to Jim Plaisted, Executive Director of the East Side Business Improvement District, Manning has signed a lease with the DiBritos East Side Car Wash building, 2124 N. Farwell Ave., to occupy the 5,000 square feet between the Car Wash and Crank Daddy’s Bicycle Works.

WOW Café and Wingery is a chain with 18 locations, mostly in the South, specializing in chicken wings in 17 flavor varieties, sandwich wraps and burgers. The company’s Web site reveals that it is hoping to open 16 new locations across the country in the coming months, including in Milwaukee and Chicago.

The Web site is wingery.com.
