For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."

Nine chefs. Nine unique culinary offerings. and a battle to raise money for SHARP Literacy.

That’s what you’ll find at the Battle at Best Place, an "Iron Chef" style event being held on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Best Place, 901 W. Juneau Ave.

A $20 suggested donation grants admission to this unique event, emceed by Fox 6’s Ted Perry, where guests can indulge in nine off-the-menu "Iron Chef" culinary creations, brewery, distillery and coffee tastings and sweets.

Entertainment will be provided by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Brewcity Bruisers and breakdancers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite culinary creation.

SHARP Literacy, Inc., which uses an interdisciplinary approach to encourage at-risk children to become strong readers, writers and researchers, will be offering a raffle at the event that will feature over 30 dining, entertainment, and sports.

The event is open to the public; however, an RSVP on Yelp is required.
