{image1}The energy was high at Summerfest on the final night and Pete Yorn's fans were up on the bleachers at the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage before the band even appeared. Yorn didn't waste any time rocking out, either, making him a nice closer to the 11-day festival on the lakefront.

Clad in a black jacket, Yorn flipped his dark, wavy locks as he and his band rolled right into "For Nancy"('Cos it Already Is)." Next was the familiar and upbeat "Life on a Chain," which gave Yorn a chance to show off his harmonica skills, to the delight of the crowd.

Yorn's version of "Suspicious Minds" put a new twist on an old favorite, as the crowd soaked up Yorn's low croon. "Sense" and "Just Another" were next. "Just Another" was a slow, melodic choice followed by another tune that started out slow then built into a loud rocker.

Up-tempo was the name of the game with "Pass Me By" but starting at about that point the crowd seemed to be dwindling, making a little more room for the die-hard Yorn fans who stayed and danced to the music.

Those who left early missed out. "Crystal Village" seemed to mark a turning point as the band really found its groove and the music began to flow perfectly. This noticeable boost helped keep the remaining crowd engaged and the fans continued to sing along with Yorn.

The encore was animated, with the hit, "Strange Condition," emerging as a noticeable -- if not unexpected -- favorite. Yorn brought out the harmonica again, and the crowd ate it up.

After wishing Milwaukee fans a wonderful summer and promising they'd soon return, Yorn and his band closed with "Murray," which had fans waving their hands back and forth as if waving goodbye not only to their beloved Yorn, but also to another passing Summerfest.
