A new convenience store, Z Pantry, will open soon at 2219 N. Farwell Ave., next door to Utrecht Art Supplies.

The convenience store will be similar to an Open Pantry, except, according to Jim Plaisted, the executive director of the East Side Business Improvement District, it will not sell alcohol.

I did a quick pop-in, and the space is in the early stages of the build-out process. A couple of workers said they were hoping to have the space completed "as soon as possible" and that the store would open in early-to- mid-summer.
