At this year's Bartender Olympics – which takes place on Thursday, March 1 at Wherehouse, 818 S. Water St. – Milwaukee bartenders will once again  "compete" for the gold.

The free event starts at 7:30 p.m. and will feature 10 local bartenders showing off their Pabst can stacking skills, weight / drink-pouring abilities and karaoke talents (or lack thereof).

Special guests include 102.1's Kramp and Adler, the Weekend Natives and DJ WhyB.

The Bartender Olympians are Joe Conforti (Rogues Bar), Adam Griffiin (Monkey Bar), Kym Hayes (The Hotel Foster), Jimmy Findlay (Spin), Amy Bladow (Bar None), Linda Kay (Whiskey Bar), Graham Kessel (The Harp), Aaron B. (Brass Monkey), Corrine Leach (Horny Goat Hideaway) and Abbey Kagan (Club Anything).

At the end of the night judges "College Dave" Mikolajek, OnMilwaukee.com's Molly Snyder, writer / photographaer / bartender extraordinaire Tom Julio, co-founder of Milwaukee Scene Josh Pietrykowski, Newaukee founder Ian Abston and BelAir Cantina co-owner Kristyn St. Denis will award one of these bartenders with the top medal.

"It will say nothing about their true bartending ability whatsoever, but it will be fun," says OnMilwaukee.com's Caroline McDonald, event organizer.

Drink specials include $3 Dr. Fireball and Hornitos cocktails, $4 Absolut, Malibu, OR-G, Jim Beam and Red Stag Cocktails, $2 Pabst Tall Boys and free samples of Party Armor.

Plus, 2Cents and OnMilwaukee.com teamed up to create a special Bar Month printed edition, which will be available at the event.
