A couple weeks ago, Drew Olson wrote about the explosion in the British Premier League's popularity and the number of bars opening early on weekends to show games to interested fans.
Well, if you're one of those people that finds it enjoyable to get out of bed at when the sun comes up on a Saturday to watch soccer; you now have another option.
The Milwaukee Brat House, 1013 N. Old World 3rd St., is now open every at 8 a.m. every Saturday during the season, which runs through spring.
"Interest in soccer is growing and, while there are a number of places people can go watch the matches, our customers – many of them English – have expressed an interest and its a great way for us to expand our business and cater to our regular customers' wishes," says Brat House manager Scott Schaefer.
"Plus, it's a great way to get an early start on the weekend."
In addition to its regular practice of serving beer in pairs, the bar also offers a special English breakfast menu, featuring classic favorites (bacon and eggs), local specialties (brats on a pretzel roll) and corned beef hash. Every breakfast comes with a complimentary glass of either orange juice or coffee, mimosa or a mug of beer.
If you're looking for a liquid breakfast, you can try an Irish coffee (whiskey with coffee and whipped cream), a German Radler (Spaten Lager with lemon-lime soda), a mimosa or the traditional Bloody Mary, served with all the regular fixings and a glass of Schlitz.
The bar has five, large plasma, HDTVs and carries games aired by both ESPN and the Sentana Sports Network. There is also WiFi available for those that want to bring their laptops and follow all the day's action and … you guessed it, their Fantasy Leagues.
