If all goes according to plan, John Dye – the owner of Bryant's Lounge and The Jazz Estate – will take over At Random, 2501 S. Delaware Ave.

He hopes to close the lounge for a short period for minor maintenance and cleaning and will reopen with regular hours in November.

"I’m really not planning on a lot of changes to the interior since it is basically perfect, but it does need a fair amount of exterior work so we will be doing restoration as time goes by," says Dye. "Of course some of this depends on the licensing and sale process, and I’ve learned the hard lesson of not promising open dates."

Dye says, after 60 years, current owner Ron Zeller is ready to retire.

"I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to keep the legacy alive," says Dye.
