Elwood's Liquor & Tap will soon open on Water Street in the former Rosie's Water Works, 1111 N. Water St. Rosie's closed in 2018 after over 30 years in business.

Elwood's – likely a reference to Dan Akroyd's character in "The Blue's Brothers" – has undergone renovations since it was purchased by Drew Deuster and JJ Kovacovich of Wild Planet Hospitality Group, and Nate Showers, proprietor of Rogue's Gallery, 134 E. Juneau Ave.

Currently, Elwood's is in a construction process that includes a massive deck on the north side of the building.

Showers says Elwood's will hopefully open in 2-3 weeks. Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for a First Look.
