Musician Evan Christian announced today he is closing the Walker's Point lounge and music venue Gibraltar, 538 W. National Ave., next month.

Opened in December 2016, Gibraltar booked musicians from around the world – as well as locals – and also served as a cocktail lounge and events space.

Gibraltar's last night will be Sunday, July 29.

"It has truly been an honor being a cultural bridge and providing quality music for the good people of Milwaukee. It has always been my dream to provide outstanding food as well as music and I’m making space for that to happen. Thank you to everyone who has not only supported me, but have supported my music career and my business endeavors," says Christian.

Christian hopes to reopen the business in a new space at a later date, but in the meantime, he is focusing on his music.

"I’m sitting on five years of original music that I can’t wait to share with you all," says Christian. "For now, we still have a few bills to pay, so let's go out at Gibraltar with a bang."
