You might know there’s living space above the Hotel Madrid, 600 S. 6th St., but did you know there’s an underground speakeasy below the bar and restaurant? Neither did we, but tomorrow night – Saturday, Sept. 29 – we get the first chance to explore it.

The speakeasy is named Mucha Lucha and the admission process is clandestine but simple:

  1. Go to the bar at Hotel Madrid any time after 8 p.m. Or apply here.
  2. As for a scorpion shot (or a cocktail if shots aren't your thing).
  3. Get escorted underground.
  4. Enjoy yourself and cause a little trouble.

Mocha Lucha will be open every Friday and Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Easy – or should we say speakeasy – enough, isn't it Milwaukee?
