The "S" in The S Bar apparently stands for "serving soon," as the restaurant and lounge found at the Silverspot Cinema in The Corners of Brookfield announced that it will reopen for lounge and patio service beginning Wednesday, July 8.

The Brookfield bar will be the first S Bar of Silverspot's six nationwide locations to reopen after shutting down earlier this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"We are excited to reopen the S Bar and hope to open the auditoriums for films very soon," managing partner Gonzalo Ulivi said, in a release. "We can’t wait for guests to return to enjoy the truly unique experience that we offer. We’re thrilled to be back!"

The S Bar will return with new protocols and cleaning procedures in order to halt the spread of COVID-19. To learn more about some of the lounge's new precautions, visit Silverspot's website – but in general, as with all activities these days, stay social distanced and wear a mask.

The S Bar will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon until 8 p.m. as well as Sundays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. – now with brunch service, offering classic day-drinking cocktail favorites and dishes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lounge will also offer "beat the clock" happy hour pricing from 3-6 p.m. on weekdays, with $3 select drinks starting at 3 p.m., $4 select drinks beginning at 4 p.m. and $5 select drinks from 5 p.m. until the end of happy hour.

As for the theater itself, the Silverspot Cinema – which opened at The Corners just last July – has yet to announce a reopening date for screening movies but "plans to open its movie operations soon." Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates when Silverspot will yell "Action!" on going back to the movies – and for information on the status of other reopenings at The Corners of Brookfield, visit the town center's website

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
