The weather is finally starting to consistently warm up, and spring is in sight (*knocks on all the wood in the area code*). But in case that's not enough, here is some more news to put you in a sunny mood: NEWaukee announced the dates today for the 2018 Night Market, a Downtown tradition celebrating its fifth year of bringing the city together under the summer stars.
This year's dates – one Wednesday every month – include:
- June 13
- July 11
- Aug. 15
- Sept. 12
Hosted on West Wisconsin Avenue between 2nd and 4th Streets from 5 until 10 p.m., Night Market is a free open-air gathering of local artists, crafters, food vendors, musicians and more on a bustling several-block stretch, delivering live art exhibitions, pop-up performances and fresh Milwaukee-made dishes and drinks.
Vendors looking to fling some food or peddle their products at this year's Night Market, applications and more information are available here on NEWaukee's website. Applications are due by Friday, March 23, with notifications sent out the following month.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
