Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted! See all the winners for the month so far here.

Oakland Gyros

It took all month, but we finally reached our final best of dining poll winner. Better late than never – late night, in particular.

Last year, Oakland Gyros was named the best late night eats, as well as the best gyros, in Milwaukee – and for good reason. The flavorful meat, combined with a delicious pita, fresh onion and tomatoes, helps a soak up a long night on the town at ungodly hours in the morning. Topping off the gyros is Oakland's superb tzatziki cucumber white sauce, which you get a whole bottle of when you order. That alone is worth the win – and the OnMilwaukee editors' pick.

It wasn't an easy win for the East Side staple, however, as Ian's Pizza – with its cheap and creative slices – was only 14 votes behind Oakland Gyros. Beloved Mexican restaurant Conejito's came in a close third, while Red Light Ramen and George Webb rounded out the rest of (*wipes away tear*) the final top five of Dining Month.

Runners up:
2. Ian’s Pizza
3. Conejitos
4. Red Light Ramen
5. George Webb

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Oakland Gyros

Lori Fredrich’s pick: The Vanguard
If I’m out, and it’s late, there’s something about The Vanguard that I crave. On the upside, there are far worse things to crave during the midnight hour than housemade sausages with creative toppings.
