Last night, OnMilwaukee reported that, according to a source, the Buddha Lounge, 1504 E. North Ave., was closed. That was confirmed today by a sign on the door of the Asian-themed bar and restaurant reading, simply, "We are closed."

They also posted this to their Facebook page on Saturday, which sounds like a farewell:

Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most- Buddha. Being Content... Having had a great meal with great friends and family... We made it easy with the attention and love that went into everything we prepared! Have a wonderful day! You are Loved.

The Buddha Lounge opened in 2015. Despite the UWM RiverView Residence Hall next door (which seems like a captive audience), the North Avenue space has struggled to find the right tenant. It was formerly La Piazza and Node Coffee Shop.
