Get ready to go happy-go-lucky for Happy Dough Lucky doughnuts, as the mini-doughnut stand will serve as the latest tenant at the evolving Mequon Public Market at Spur 16.

The mini-doughnut bar joins Anodyne, Beans and Barley, Purple Door Ice Cream, Bavette La Boucherie and Cafe Corazon at the new project – as well as St. Paul Seafood Company moving in next door – which aims to begin opening by early next year.

"This is a great opportunity to serve our customers in an excellent location with outstanding neighbors," said owner Andrew Swofford, in a press release.

For an early taste, Happy Dough Lucky doughnuts will serve up tasty pastries at Taste of Mequon on Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon until 9 p.m. at Mequon City Hall. And as for the Mequon Public Market, the project is expected to announce five more tenants in the space in the coming months.

So stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more announcements as they arrive.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
