West Siders are down one doughnut shop.
Holey Moley Doughnuts, the creative doughnut stop at 11340 W. Burleigh St. in the Mayfair Collection in Wauwatosa, closed earlier this week. But it will soon become an extension of the popular burger stop, AJ Bombers.
Thanks to its casual vibe, p-nut bombs and menu featuring creative burgers and frozen custard, the Mayfair Collection location of AJ Bombers has quickly become one of Wauwatosa’s favorite family-friendly dining spots. And that’s about to get even better with the addition of a family friendly arcade-style area featuring games particularly popular with the tween and teen set.
To accommodate the new addition, the wall adjacent to the host stand at the popular burger spot will be torn down, creating a natural flow between the two venues. In kind, the exterior doors of the doughnut shop will be replaced with windows.
"We really wanted to provide something that gives families a great place to gather and really have a great time together," notes Kristin Godfrey, vice president of marketing for Hospitality Democracy. "And, in the end, this will be the perfect spot for busy moms. They can come with their kids, make a mess and we’ll clean everything up for them."
Ultimately, she says it’s about giving people more of what they want from AJ Bombers.
"You’re already coming to AJ Bombers to have fun. So our goal is to make this even more fun for you," she adds.
Hospitality Democracy is targeting Thanksgiving weekend for the soft launch of the new game room.
The Third Ward Holey Moley Coffee + Doughnuts location, at 316 N. Milwaukee St., remains open, serving both walk-in customers and providing catering for corporate and special events.
