Another restaurant will soon join the myriad eateries in Walker’s Point. Meraki, 939 S. 2nd St., will open to the public today, Dec. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
The restaurant, located between Braise and Crazy Water, has been In the works since this summer. The interior will feature leather booths, a custom stained-glass window and crystal chandeliers.
Billed as "fine dining without white tablecloths," according to former Blue Jacket chef Chad Meier, the restaurant will aim to showcase the best ingredients in preparations that are neither fancy or fussy. Meier will run the restaurant with his wife, Malissa.
Meraki, a word derived from a Greek adjective meaning "to do something with soul, creativity, or love," will feature a changing menu of internationally inspired small and large plates, including dishes from Italy and Spain. The bar menu will be separate and includes pickled vegetables and fried chickpeas alongside a rotating selection of house cocktails, a variety of taps, sake and wine.
The bar will open at 4:30 p.m. and the dining room at 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For reservations for parties of 6 or more, contact the restaurant at (414) 897-7230.
