The Rafters Steakhouse, 7228 S. 27th St., anounced on its Web site last spring that they would close for the summer and reopen on Sept. 7, 2010. The iconic, old school steak house did not reopen, and now customers are wondering if The Rafters Steakhouse is closed for good.

"It’s just not certain at this point if The Rafters will reopen," said Barbara Wesener, the executive director of the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce.

A sign taped to the door reads, "Due to a family emergency reopening has been delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience." The bar / restaurant’s phone number is listed, but disconnects after a few rings.
