Milwaukee artist Lauren Medina describes herself as "a multimedia artist with a penchant for hyperrealism." Most recently, she has incorporated this passion into the form of polymer clay keychains, magnets and pins.
Medina's art collection, called FRUTAS, is a collaboration between herself and Debbie Sajnani of Ramie and Co.
Medina, a graduate of Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), was working as a freelance graphic designer for Kohl's Corporation but lost her contract because of the pandemic. She is currently looking for a full-time design opportunity.
Recently, she contributed to a new mural in the Milwaukee County Courthouse called "Nuestra Madre Justicia."
FRUTAS collection is available here. Sales, so far, have been good and for that Medina is extremely happy.
"I'm honestly floored at the amount of support that has come through. I would have had virtually no income otherwise," says Medina. "People have been so eager to support local makers, and I am very grateful for that."
Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.
Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
