We here in the Cream City certainly know Kent Knapp, the Milwaukee Blacksmith. Now, thanks to a new History Channel TV show, the entire nation will know about him.

During what appears to be an episode of "American Pickers," the History Channel recently debuted a short trailer for "Milwaukee Blacksmith," a reality-based television show about the local metal man and the various goings-on sparking up at his family-run Third Ward base.

Unfortunately, the official trailer is currently nowhere to be found on the History Channel's websites or video channels, but several Milwaukee Blacksmith fans grabbed video of the video and passed it along to Knapp's Facebook page.

(UPDATE: Thanks to the History Channel, we've received a better quality version version of the ad, now embedded below. Enjoy!)

It's a pretty nifty preview, serving as both an ad for the new show (obviously) and seemingly the city itself, talking about and tying in Milwaukee's history of craftsmen and builders. Even if you're not a fan of these kinds of occupational reality shows, it's hard not to feel a little civic pride.

The other important detail: the show's premiere date. According to the ad, "Milwaukee Blacksmith" will make its series premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. So stay tuned for a familiar face – and probably more than a few familiar sights – hitting your airwaves soon.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
