The Big 920, Milwaukee's Sports Station, announced today that longtime Milwaukee sports journalist Drew Olson will be the new midday host on the station for "The Drew Olson Show, powered by OnMilwaukee."

"The Drew Olson Show" will air from 1 to 3 p.m. weekdays and will debut on Wednesday, March 1. The midday program will feature regular guest appearances from OnMilwaukee writers and Olson’s longtime friends, including Milwaukee Journal Sentinel baseball writer Tom Haudricourt and Fox Sports Wisconsin commentator Bill Schroeder.

"As we continue to grow, we are thrilled to add two strong Milwaukee brands to The Big 920 lineup," said Tim Scott, Senior Vice President of programming for iHeartMedia Milwaukee. "Drew is well known for talking and writing about sports, as well as his interests in music, food, comedy and pop culture, which makes him a great fit for our audience."

"I have been an OnMilwaukee.com fan since the site launched in 1998," said Olson, who spent four years as a senior editor and columnist with OnMilwaukee between 2006 and 2010. "I enjoyed great years working there and I cannot wait to reconnect with the staff and collaborate on multiple platforms in new, innovative ways."

"As we continue to expand our footprint and further our engagement in the Milwaukee community, partnering with our friend Drew Olson and the good people at iHeartMedia was an easy choice," said Jeff Sherman, co-founder and president of OnMilwaukee.

Olson joined The Big 920 in August 2016, after a 12-year stint at ESPN Milwaukee. For the past several months, he has served as co-host of "The Mike Heller Show," which airs from 3-6 p.m. on iHeartMedia’s The Big 1070 and The Big 920, as well as two other stations. Olson will continue in that role, in addition to replacing "The Mitch Nelles Show."

Nelles is transitioning from daily on-air duties to focus on broadcast sales for the six iHeartMedia Milwaukee stations, and will serve as substitute host and work on special events. In the past, Olson also served as president of the Baseball Writers Association of America, sports reporter at The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and freelancer for Fox Sports Wisconsin and other outlets.

The Big 920 is a leading media outlet in the Milwaukee market, and its content is available across multiple platforms, including its broadcast station; online via its branded digital site; mobile; and social, with nationwide listening through iHeartRadio, the all-in-one streaming music and live radio service – with its more than a billion downloads and 95 million registered users.
