For those waiting for something special and unique headed to Summerfest for the festival's 50th anniversary, the day has arrived.

This morning, Summerfest announced the Outlaw Music Festival – a special music festival within the festival, a first for the Big Gig – will close out this year's edition on Sunday, July 9, featuring an all-star lineup of country and folk performers including Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and His Band, Sheryl Crow, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Margo Price and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.

It's an impressive collection of living legends and rising stars – most of which no stranger to Summerfest and Milwaukee. Nelson helped open Summerfest just last year at the BMO Harris Pavilion, while Crow played the Big Gig in 2015. Nathaniel Rateliff and company are familiar faces to Brew City music fans, whether they're playing an afternoon at Summerfest in 2012, Shank Hall in 2014 or Club Garibaldi in 2015. Isbell rocked The Pabst just last year, while Lukas Nelson opened for Neil Young at the Amp in 2015 and relative newcomer Margo Price played Shank Hall that same year. And as for Dylan, the folk music icon last played in Milwaukee in 2015 when he came to the Riverside.

The doors to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater will open for the special festival-within-Summerfest at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with the music beginning 2 p.m. and lasting throughout the day until 11 p.m. Ticketed guests will be free to come and go from the Amp as they please during the entire festival.

Tickets for the special day-long festival within Summerfest – complete with Big Gig admission – will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Summerfest box office, Ticketmaster ticket centers and Walmart stores, as well as online at Ticketmaster.com and over the phone through either the Summerfest box office, (414) 273-2600, a live Ticketmaster agent, (800) 745-3000, or Ticketmaster's automated ticket line, (866) 448-7849.

The Big Gig will also run its usual presale for fans who subscribe to Summerfest's email updates and alerts, as well as follow the festival on Facebook and Twitter. The presale will take place on Wednesday, April 19 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. or until the allotted presale inventory has run out.

Today's announcement leaves just one more headliner show for the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Who will it be? And when are we getting those grounds stage headliners? Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee to find out.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
