Why you can’t miss it

The Decemberists don’t just sing songs; they tell stories, and they do it well. Lead singer Colin Meloy is like the Shakespeare of modern music so it is far from surprising that he is also a bestselling children’s author. Listen to a song like  "O’ Valencia" and you’ll be so invested in the characters that you might be tempted to fast forward just to find out what happens to them. This band has a flair for the theatrical and is going to put on a show in more than just one sense of the word.

Song starter pack

The Hit: "Calamity Song"

Few bands can make the end of the world sound as fun as The Decemberists do in "Calamity Song." Expect to hear this one played on Sunday night.

The B-Side Beauty: "Sucker's Prayer"

It was very surprising that this gem off the group's new album, "I’ll be Your Girl," wasn’t featured as a single. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t get snubbed in the live lineup.

Can’t Wait to See It Live: "Sons and Daughters"

This one is a real foot-stomper and gets a ton of crowd support. Just watch the link below and try not to be excited to be a part of this.
