Photojournalist TJ Lambert was at Miller Park Wednesday in the aftermath of the explosion and fire at Falk Corp. in the Menomonee Valley and she snapped the photos you see here.

Falk workers were evacuated from the site and sent to Miller Park where there was also a press conference with Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Police Department's Anne E. Schwartz.

These images paint a picture of human face of an event that for most Milwaukeeans appeared to be little more than billowing smoke in the distance or news unfolding on TV.

A little about the photographer:

At the age of 9, Lambert saw an issue of Time magazine that changed her life. It was the photograph of the 1981 attempted assassination of the pope in St. Peter's Square. The conceptualization of that photographer's emotional and professional skills staggered Lambert and she realized that photographers were bestowed a privilege of being able to convey messages without words.

She is currently the chief photographer for CitiGal Magazine, a new publication that focuses on empowering women. Lambert's business, Stages Photography, has been responsible for documenting great events in the Milwaukee area like Summerfest, Chick Singer Night, the WAMI awards and various charity fundraisers. Her international client list ranges from brides to families to performers, to area businesses to the Milwaukee Police Association.
