George Mallet confirmed on Twitter this afternoon that he's leaving Channel 4, with Friday his last day in the anchor chair.
He wrote: "My final day on TODAY'S TMJ4 will be Friday. I'm going to equally cold Vermont!"
He offered no more details, though he had publicly put his house up for sale.
Mallet became an anchor at the NBC station in 2007.
Milwaukee will miss you, George! Our loss is Vermont's gain. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
George's leaving is one less reason for me to stick with TMJ for news. Curmudgeonly Courtny and I'm-always-right-far-right Jeff Wagner certainly won't do it for me in the afternoon. I'm outta there.
Good luck in Vermont, George.
