New Yorker Bar owner has deep roots in local bar / dining scene

Sal Monreal, owner of The New Yorker Bar, 645 N. James Lovell St., was born into a family of restauranteurs. His parents owned the now-defunct El Matador Mexican restaurants, and he started the Jazz Estate and Caroline's, both still in business today.
