On Saturday, I went to a drive-thru COVID testing station at UMOS, 2701 S. Chase St. My son and I got there just before 11 a.m. and we waited in a car line for an hour. The long wait might have been because it was a Saturday morning, when presumably fewer people have to work. With that logic, I'd suggest going during the week if possible.

The test itself – which is free of charge – was easier and less invasive than I'd imagined. The swabs definitely went to a place in my nostrils no object has gone before, but it was only for a few seconds so I found it manageable. My eyes did water a lot and my nostrils were tingly for about 30 minutes following the test.

I was told by the extraordinarily nice staff that I would receive my results within 3-5 days. They will call twice and then leave message on the third call if I don't pick up.

I do not have any symptoms, nor do I suspect I have COVID-19, but I wanted to go to ensure I am not a-symptomatic and unknowingly spreading the disease. I was also curious and wanted to experience it.

I'll let you know when I get my results. For now, watch my COVID testing experience via this video and / or get a test for yourself. UMOS is open for drive-thru testing Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no testing on Sundays.
