The Bucks incredible season may be over (too soon, too soon; I'm so sorry) but that doesn't mean the activity in the entertainment block is shutting down. Deer District already announced morning yoga and nighttime movie screenings, and now it's added a free summer music series coming to The Beer Garden.

Beginning May 29 and running every Wednesday night through the end of August, the free summer concert series will host a variety of local music acts hitting the open air space from 5 to 8 p.m.

"The Beer Garden is a prime setting to host local music on summer evenings," said Michael Belot, Senior Vice President of Bucks Ventures and Development, in a release. "We look forward to inviting the community to gather in The Beer Garden for a great time all summer long."

Here's the lineup for the inaugural music series:

May 29 – Rudy and Vee
June 5 – Ryan McIntyre
June 12 – Joe Wray
June 19 – Barbara Stephan and Pete Mac
June 26 – Jake Warne
July 3 – Jake Warne
July 10 – Joe Wray
July 17 – Barbara Stephan and Pete Mac
July 24 – Jake Warne
July 31 – Ian Ash of The Last Bees
Aug. 7 – Marr'Lo Prada
Aug. 14 – Joe Wray
Aug. 21 – Barbara Stephan and Pete Mac
Aug. 28 – Jake Warne

One thing we'd change: It should be officially called "the Deer Garden," not The Beer Garden. But that's something to be resolved another time. For now, we've got a welcome new addition to Milwaukee's already loaded list of free summer music series. We may not get much summer, but we do it right.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
