Most of you will have off Labor Day weekend a month from now, but Henry Maier Festival Park will be hard at work hosting three different fun events – whether your interests are motorcycles, country music or barbecued meats.

Revving up on the north end of the festival grounds the entire weekend will be the Katancha Rock, Rally & Roll motorcycle celebration, running from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30 through Sunday, Sept. 2. The free event will feature motorcycle vendors including Vance & Hines, J&P Cycles, Kuryakyn, Knight Rider Jewelry and Cycle Solutions, as well as live music, a rat rod car show, plenty of other bike shows, food and drink and much more. The event, as well as bike parking, is free.

More about music than motorcycles? Then drop on by the other end of the park grounds – the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, to be exact – on Saturday, Sept. 1 for the Summer Plays On Tour, featuring country stars Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Russell Dickerson. Hungry for meat instead of music? The holiday weekend will wrap up with the third annual Big Gig BBQ from noon until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, featuring 15 local vendors showing off their carnivorous creations, as well as food demonstrations, games, music, contests and competitions – including the new Amateur BBQ Rib Competition and Big Gig BBQ $5,000 Cash Giveaway. What better way to wash down some tasty meat than with money? Admission and parking for the meat feast are both free.
