Pabst Milwaukee Brewery has come home and, to celebrate, the company will kick off the summer music season with a grand opening street festival. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, May 13 from 1 to 7 p.m.

The brewery will host the festival on Juneau Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, and the adjoining area of 11th Street, and will feature outdoor performances from a variety of leading local bands. An art gallery, live painting, games, activities and food will also be offered, along with Pabst Milwaukee Brewery beer. Admission is free and is family friendly – though beer drinkers will, of course, have to be 21 to partake.

Local music lovers will fall head over heels for the lineup, which includes headliner IshDARR. You've seen his name all over town, as he was recently named a grounds stage headliner at Summerfest and will be on movie screens across the country in Sony Pictures' upcoming movie "White Boy Rick," starring Matthew McConaughey.

The rest of the daylong party includes Riverwest hip-hop group New Age Narcissism, featuring Lex Allen, Siren and Lorde Fred333, as well as Wisconsin native Hugh Masterson of Hugh Bob & The Hustle, Madison-based pop punk band Masked Intruder, alternative soul rocker Abby Jeanne and funk jam group D’Amato.

Visitors can take in "Live Paintings" from visual artists in a Pabst Open-Air Art Gallery, presented by Canvas, and also get onsite commemorative swag, as local designers will offer one-time-only Pabst Milwaukee Brewery T-shirts. Local designers Milwaukee Home, Moda 3, Orchard Street Press and Wiskullsin will contribute threads, with the printing efforts done by Redwall Screen Printing.

Something else to be excited about? A new outdoor beer garden will also be introduced during the festival. 414, let's have one more!

"We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of Pabst’s new brewery and introduce the next generation of craft beers on the streets of the original Pabst complex alongside the city of Milwaukee, its residents and stand-out local artists," said Pabst Brewing Director of Special Events Shira Yevin in a statement. "There is no better way to mark the next phase of Pabst than celebrate where it all began."

You can also test your skills and have tons of fun with the legendary Pabst "Can Crusher" pinball machine, a Pabst Brewery Milwaukee corn hole toss and other games. See you there!

Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.

What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.

All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
