Don’t be fooled by the minimal skill required. In Wisconsin, snow tubing is indeed considered a winter sport, offering no-frills adventure with plenty of speed. Take a look at the tubing chutes and hills that offer fun for the entire family when temperatures drop. Make a day out of it by visiting local Wisconsin shops and restaurants when you’re done gliding down the slopes. 

Winter Park Recreation Area – Kewaunee 

Open weekends only, this tubing dreamland in Kewaunee is the perfect addition to your winter weekend getaway. It offers six tubing lanes and a ski hill with five runs. Snowboarders are also welcome, and of course, there’s a fully stocked snack bar. Visit historic houses in Kewaunee after and stay at the charming lakefront Coho Motel & Suites.

Cascade Mountain – Portage 

Cascade Mountain offers a special snow tube park with five 800-foot tubing chutes. The mountain includes 10 lifts for convenience and the high-speed Mountain Top Express. Don’t forget to check out the 36 different ski trails, too. Warm up after with the quick drive to Wisconsin Dells, one of the state’s most-loved vacation spots filled with plenty of food, shopping, waterparks, entertainment and charm.

Badlands Sno-Park – Hudson 

One ticket to the Badlands Sno-Park gives you an entire day of old-fashioned fun with open slopes – no chutes. More than 400 handled-tubes are available to slide down seven groomed slopes. Badlands makes its own snow for perfect conditions every time. Spending the night? Check out the Phipps Inn Bed & Breakfast nestled in Hudson for comfort and elegance in a national historic building.

Wilmot Mountain – Wilmot 

With a tubing facility more than 1,000 feet long and 22 lanes, it’s no surprise that Wilmot Mountain is a Wisconsin favorite. Complete with a conveyor lift, manmade snow and a gorgeous new lodge, you can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate on a sun deck between rides. Drive to Kenosha after for quaint shops and dining on the lake.

Sylvan Hill Park – Wausau 

This tubing hill has towing ropes, snow-making equipment, a chalet and snack bar for all of your tubing needs. Six total tubing chutes are elevated 133 feet and provide plenty of downhill fun for hours on end. Located in beautiful Wausau, stay a while with more winter activities at Rib Mountain State Park, including skiing and snowboarding at Granite Peak.
