Former Brewers General Manager and player Sal Bando made a cameo on Sunday night's episode of "The Simpsons." He played himself as a member of the 1974 Oakland A's, the squad Homer labeled the "best team ever."

Homer just finished painting his driveway in the team's honor when Bando pulled up to Simpsons' house at 742 Evergreen Terrace with a carload of players, clad in their Oakland uniforms.

"Look, that guy remembers us," said the animated version of Bando, who received mention in the show's closing credits.

"Hey, Sal Bando, give him a '74 A's 'thank you' honk," said teammate and passenger Gene Tenace. Bando beeped and sped away.

Now in its 17th season, this may be the first Brewers-related reference on the show (even though Bando was appearing as one of the A's). In 2002, Homer referenced Brew City when Springfield became the fattest city in America. "In your face, Milwaukee," he shouted.
