Who's got Packers preseason fever!? Yeah, me neither.
But after these three glorified scrimmages, three games of analyzing the back-ups to the back-ups to the back-ups and three weeks of wincing anytime someone merely glances at Aaron Rodgers's collarbone, the 2018-19 Green Bay Packers campaign to Super Bowl LIII will finally begin. So let's get pumped for the start of another hopefully legendary Packers run with some legendary Packers finishes from the past, courtesy of this "Clutch Supercut" from Teutonia World.
You want the Ice Bowl finale? We've got the Ice Bowl finale. You want Chester Marcol catching his own blocked kick for a game-winning touchdown? We've got Chester Marcol catching his own blocked kick for a game-winning touchdown. Jared Cook's amazing sideline toe-tapper? In here. The Hail Mary against the Detroit Lions a few years back? You bet that's in the mix. The Antonio Freeman miracle catch against the Minnesota Vikings? Obviously. Want to laugh again at Matt Hasselbeck calling his shot and completely missing it against the Pack in 2004? Always. They even found a moment for Brett Hundley last season. (Sorry if that reference brought on PSTD-like flashbacks.)
And I think the clip at 1:39 is a particularly inspired choice.
It comes tracked to the glorious score to "Interstellar," so if you don't feel inspired to run through a brick wall – or at least grill up some brats – you must be some kind of Bears fan or something.
As for the present, the Packers will play their next preseason game Thursday night at Lambeau Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers. And as for actual football, the regular season starts on Sunday Night Football against – who else – the Chicago Bears on Sept. 9.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
