Warm winter temperatures have slightly delayed the creation of the Wisconsin Dells’ first Ice Castle Wonderland, but the cold weather seems to be here to stay for a while and the tentative opening date is Jan. 12.

The Ice Castle is located at Mt. Olympus Resort – near the near the intersection of Wisconsin Dells Parkway and County Highway A, next to the "upside-down" White House.

Thirty builders are working on the massive ice project that, when complete, will feature a 35-foot tower, fountain, walkways, tunnels, slides and a maze – all of which will have an embedded light show.

It’s recommended that guests wear boots, buy tickets online, use the hashtag #icecastles when posting to social media and bring a small sled for children instead of a stroller. For more FAQ go here

Ice Castle Wonderland will be open six days a week – closed on Tuesdays – through March 18, 2017 if the cold weather permits. Ticket prices and hours of operation vary; go here for all of the information.

Slip, slide away! (Not literally, please.)
