Less than 48 hours ago, OnMilwaukee.com broke the news that Molly Cool’s, 1110 N. Old World 3rd St., was closed.

Today, information became available that Tim Thompson applied for a tavern license at the space under the name of Ale Asylum which is a brewing company / brew pub in Madison.

The business will be called Ale Asylum River House and it will be owned by Thompson, who owns another restaurant called The Free House, and will be a separate entity from the brew pub.

"Although it is a partnership in name, and that restaurant will carry Asylum beer, the business entities will remain entirely separate. In other words, the collaboration is in name and branding only," says director of promotions for Ale Asylum, Hathaway Dilba.

Also, Suite Nightclub, 1103 N. Old World 3rd St., closed on Friday, Sept. 26. The nightclub will reopen as a new concept later this year as part of the newly formed 3 Beacons group.

Finally, multiple sources confirmed the owner of the Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pubs hopes to open a new concept in the former Whiskey River / Bootleggers / Irish Rec Room space at 1025 N. Old World 3rd St. No further information is available at this point.

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for more info about these developments as it becomes available.
