This morning, the Milwaukee Film Festival announced the official dates of its upcoming 2015 edition. The 15-day extravaganza of movies, short movies, educational movie screenings, post-movie conversations and panel discussions – likely about movies – will run from Thursday, Sept. 24 through Thursday, Oct. 8.
In addition, Milwaukee Film announced that key major sponsors Bud and Sue Selig renewed their support for the film festival, pledging $150,000 annually for the next three years.
"Sue and I are thrilled to continue our support of the Milwaukee Film Festival," Bud Selig said in a statement. "In six short years, Milwaukee Film has grown to become a vital cultural institution for Milwaukee, bringing a dynamic energy to our beloved city. We can't wait for this fall to celebrate its seventh year."
"We are humbled by the philanthropic leadership of Bud and Sue," added Milwaukee Film artistic and executive director Jonathan Jackson. "They had the vision to take a chance on a fledgling non-profit in 2009 during the financial crisis. Their continued generosity – $1,200,000 in support to date – inspires our staff and board to produce a better festival every single year."
