The year 2020 has been a tough one for many reasons, especially for those who face economic uncertainty and find it difficult to put food on the table. That’s why ADAMM and its members are making a renewed effort to raise money for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the leading hunger relief organization in Wisconsin that operates food banks throughout our area.

Once again the Automobile Dealers Association of Metro Milwaukee and its members are conducting the Change Your Oil, Change Lives program. For every oil change performed at a member dealer’s service department, $1 will go to Feeding America. The program runs through Feb. 27; customers pay no additional charge for the oil change.

“We all have seen the long lines outside food banks while watching the national news,” says Jim Tolkan, ADAMM president. “The situation is just as dire locally, where one in seven people face hunger. Food insecurity affects people of all ages and races, with seniors and children among the most vulnerable. They live in cities, suburbs and rural areas and many of them have jobs. In short, they are our neighbors.”

ADAMM chose Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin as the beneficiary for the fund-raising effort because it makes such an efficient use of the donations it receives. Just $10 in donations can provide 60 meals!

All you need to do to support this cause is have your oil changed at a participating new car dealership, which will donate $1 for each oil change. If you choose to donate more, just drop some cash in the jars located at each dealership.

Through the years, the Change Your Oil, Change Lives campaign has provided more than one million meals for hungry Wisconsin residents.

“The need has never been more dire,” says Tolkan. “Please help out by adding an oil change to your to-do list.”
