Insurgent Theatre is a Milwaukee-based theater company founded by Tracy Doyle and Rex Winsome, and the group plans to take its most recent project, "Paint the Town," on the road.

In an effort to raise funds, Art Bar hosts a benefit bash on Thursday, Aug,. 14, called "Bars for the Arts." The event starts at 8 p.m.

Insurgent's tour begins in Milwaukee and continues in Boston, New York and St Louis before finishing up back at home at The Borg Ward on Aug. 31.

"Bars for the Arts" will feature a live DJ, food, Lakefront beer specials and a chance to take home a shopping cart filled with booze and mixers.

"I managed to fill up a shopping cart full of everything one might need to create the perfect drink, or throw one hell of a bash, and I want you to win it," says Kristine Petersen, event organizer.
