Local filmmakers Brian James McGuire and Dan Wilson are throwing a fund-raising party at Art Bar for their low budget indie film, "the thickness of delirium," on Saturday, March 4 at 9 p.m. A $10 donation at the door gets guests $2 pints of beer, free food and raffle prizes. A $20 also secures a free DVD of the film when it's released later this year.

"the thickness of delirium" is about a 32-year-old man named Dolan McDowell who has been tormented for years knowing that his father doesn't care about him. When his mother dies and his father doesn't come to the funeral, Dolan reaches a breaking point. Unable to put it past him, he packs a small bag and drives from Milwaukee to his father's house in Utah to kill him.

The film will be shot in Milwaukee, Ogallala, Neb., Laramie Wyo. and Ogden, Utah, from March 5-16. "the thickness of delirium" is currently in pre-production, with Milwaukee's Bartoli Filmworks doing post production.

The film's Web site is bartolifilm.com.
