The Great Milwaukee Summer is HERE! Your guide to what you'll be doing, where you'll be drinking, who you'll be hearing and how you'll be getting a sweet tan this summer is on OnMilwaukee. The Great Milwaukee Summer guide is brought to you by Geis Garage Doors and Peoples State Bank

Want to hear some great-sounding news? Bayshore's Sounds of Summer is back, rocking out in 2024 with an impressive new lineup of local acts hitting The Yard this weekend and beyond.

Hitting the stage every Friday night from 6-9 p.m., Bayshore's Sounds of Summer outdoor concert series – presented by OnMilwaukee and 96.5 WKLH – will celebrate its fifth season of stellar live music in its central open-air green space, continuing this weekend and running through the end of August. Each evening will feature food surrounding the space from local food trucks, vendors showcasing their wares, tasty brews and beverages from The Tap beer garden found right nearby, and – of course – marvelous music taking the stage each night, filling The Yard with great tunes and even greater company.

This year's performer lineup features all sorts of genres and all sorts of local favorites – from 5 Card Studs to Chicken Wire Empire and many more. Here's the remaining slate of acts jamming out in The Yard for Bayshore's Sounds of Summer this year:

  • July 26 – 5 Card Studs
  • Aug. 2 – Chicken Wire Empire
  • Aug. 9 – De La Buena
  • Aug. 16 – Rebel Grace

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
