"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee is brought to you by Miller Brewing Company, calling Milwaukee home since 1855. For the entire month of March, we're serving up fun articles on bars, clubs and beverages – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

Great Lakes Distillery

For the first time this year, OnMilwaukee separated the always-popular breweries from other tours to create a distinct category, and the city’s standard-bearer for spirits ran away with the victory. Great Lakes Distillery, founded in 2004 by Guy Rehorst, earned more reader votes than the next five spots combined, a testament to its old-fashioned but high-quality craftsmanship, popular and informative tours and longstanding good reputation. Say hi to Roaring Dan for us!

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Great Lakes Distillery

Runners up:
2. Milwaukee Pedal Tavern
3. Riverwalk Boat Tours
4. Wollersheim Winery & Distillery
5. Central Standard Craft Distillery

This year we also asked a variety of prominent Milwaukeeans to weigh in on their pick for specific categories. For this category, we consulted Eric Paulsen, a radio DJ and co-host of the "Discover Wisconsin" TV show.

Paulsen's pick: Twisted Path Distillery
In a prime example of intoxicating clustering, Twisted Path Distillery, Bittercube Apothecary and Enlightened Brewing Company all share the same building in the Lincoln Warehouse.

From the unique drinks made from on-site craft spirits to the tunes spinning on vinyl to set the tone, the Dock 18 Tasting Room has to be one of the coolest cozy cocktail places in existence.
