The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2012. Find readers' results in 50 categories, including an editors' pick, in this series of articles that run daily in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.

Since 2009, longtime bartender and writer Dave Mikolajek – a.k.a. "College Dave" – has contributed regular articles to OnMilwaukee.com about his barhopping adventures to scores of local bars with a group of friends.

He's introduced readers, and the OnMilwaukee.com staff, to numerous tavern gems, and is a font of information when it comes to the history of Milwaukee bars and bar owners. Consequently, OnMilwaukee.com added a category this year, asking voters to pick their favorite bar that College Dave has written about.

Voters picked Champion's Pub as their favorite "College Dave" bar, one of the better-known bars on the list. The OnMilwaukee.com staff agree: Champion's offers affordable drinks as well as a friendly atmosphere, therefore deserving the top spot in this new category.
