The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2010. Find readers' results in 50 categories, including an editors' pick, in this series of articles that run daily in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com. For the second year in a row, Sobelman's Pub & Grill has taken top prize in the OnMilwaukee.com contest for best Marquette bar.
Sobelman's, located in a former Schlitz tavern building at 1900 W. St. Paul Ave., is renowned for its Black Angus burgers -- served on tasty buns with three cheeses, jalapenos and fried onions -- and its Bloody Marys.
Owners Dave and Melanie Sobelman, who have courted business from Marquette students and alums for nearly a decade, serve cold beer and good food in a clean, cozy environment.
In summer 2009, the Sobelman family claimed the Farwell Avenue spot formerly occupied by the short-lived Patty Burger and opened Sobelman's Tall Grass Grill.
