Here's a big-name get for the Bradley Symphony Center: Award-winning stage and screen star Billy Porter will bring his newly announced "Black Mona Lisa: Volume One" tour to the MSO's Downtown hub on Saturday, May 20.
The multi-talented performer – winning both a Tony and Grammy for his work on Broadway in "Kinky Boots," scoring an Emmy for his role in FX's lauded series "Pose" and most recently appearing in the big screen comedy "80 for Brady," all along with releasing several albums of Broadway hits and soulful originals – will perform a 90-minute musical experience, spanning Porter's entire life and career in song with the help of a full live band.
Tickets for the show go on sale beginning Friday, March 10, at Billy Porter's website or through Ticketmaster. For more information about the tour stop, visit the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's website.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
