Let's ignore today's grey 40-degree April weather and talk instead about summer festivals – in particular the Brady Street Festival, which today brought some sun by announcing it will return down the East Side drag on Saturday, July 29.
Traditionally held from 11 a.m. until midnight up and down Brady Street, the festival features dozens upon dozens of local vendors and exhibitors, food, drink, interactive activities like a rock-climbing wall courtesy of Adventure Rock and plenty of live music and entertainment. In fact, there should be even more music than usual this year as the 2023 Brady Street Festival will not only have its three outdoor stages but a fourth indoor stage as well: "The Lilipad" found inside Lilliput Records at 1669 N. Farwell Ave.
The complete music lineup will be announced on a later summer date; for more updates and sponsorship info, visit Brady Street BID's website. And for the time being, get pumped for the Brady Street Festival – and the many other events headed to the neighborhood this summer, including the 'Merica Brady Street Bar Crawl on May 28, the Art Walk on June 17 and Brady Street's Harley 120th celebration on July 14-15.
Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more summer festival announcements and updates.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
