The Brewers signed left-handed reliever Randy Choate to a one-year contract Wednesday. Choate was added to the 40-man roster, which stands at 35.

Choate, 32, spent most of the 2007 season at Class AAA Tucson, where he went 3-1 with a 2.98 ERA and 3 saves in 55 relief appearances.

He also pitched in two games for the Diamondbacks and is currently pitching for Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League, where is 0-1 with a 1.50 ERA and a save in 12 outings.

Choate has pitched in the Major leagues with New York (2000-'03), Arizona (2004-'07). In 196 appearances, he is 5-7 with a 4.64 ERA.
