Can championship mojo transfer across teams and sports? Let's hope so, because Deer District announced today that it will host watch parties at The MECCA Sports Bar & Grill and The Beer Garden for the Brewers' upcoming NLDS series against the Atlanta Braves.
Starting with Game 1 on Friday, Oct. 8, the two Deer District venues will feature the playoff series on its screens – including the 42-foot mega-screen in The MECCA and the 40-foot outdoor screen in the Beer Garden – as well as specials. The MECCA will offer giant Bavarian pretzels, souvenir cups with the purchase of a 22-ounce draft brew and specialty alcohol drinks for the occasion, while The Beer Garden will feature special hot alcoholic drinks to go along with its 20 beer taps as well as Lumpia City and Heaven's Table food trucks on standby to feed your Brew Crew fandom.
The viewing parties will continue on through the five-game series against the Braves. Hopefully it will go as well as the last time fans gathered in Deer District to watch a Milwaukee squad take down a team from Atlanta.
To make a reservation for The MECCA, call 414-908-0401. (No reservations are needed for The Beer Garden, which will be standing room only.)

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
