With the Brewers season opener rapidly approaching, things at Miller Park are beginning to heat up. A quick walk-though on Thurs., March 1, hit home the fact that while a lot of work still needs to be done, Miller Park is rounding third and heading home fast.

With that in mind, the Brewers announced at a press conference today that single game tickets will go on sale to the general public, Sat., March 3, at 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and will continue Sun., March 4, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

"Excitement for the first season of play at Miller Park has gone beyond our wildest expectations," said Bob Voight, VP of ticket sales for the club. "This day has been anxiously awaited by Brewers fans."

Those fans can purchase tickets in three ways. The preferred method, according to Voight, is via the internet. Up to 500 users can purchase tickets at any given time through the team's website at www.milwaukeebrewers.com.

The next-best option is by calling either (414) 902-4000 or (800) 933-7890. Phone operators can handle up to 159 callers simultaneously.

If you choose to buy tickets at the Miller Park ticket windows, be forewarned that there are just 16 windows. But don't underestimate the festive atmosphere (or the cold weather, either) that will certainly permeate the crowd.

The Miller Park ticket windows are located on the left-field side and parking is available in the lots east of the stadium, accessed from Hwy. 41 and Miller Park Way. Bernie Brewer and the World Famous Racing Sausages will amuse the crowd from 7:30 a.m.-noon.

Group and season tickets can be purchased at the team's ticket sales auxiliary trailer, located next to the Klements' Sausage Haus. Single game ticket sales will take place at the trailer from Mon., March 5. Trailer hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.

The County Stadium brick redemption program also kicks off on Sat., March 3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fans holding ticket stubs from the Oct. 3, 1999 Brewers-Reds game can pick up a cream city brick from County Stadium foundation.

Brick redemption is also slated for Sun., March 4, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in the River East parking lot and from March 5-22 in the Brewers Ticket Sales auxiliary trailer. After March 23, bricks may be picked up in the FanZone at Miller Park during business hours.

SportService will sell hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate for $1 and donuts for 50¢. After purchasing tickets, fans will have the opportunity to visit the expansive new FanZone store. Those heading to the store will also likely get a glance into Miller Park.

But the best time to get a good look at Miller Park will be on one of the stadium's public open house days, slated for Sat., March 24, 1-8 p.m. and Sun., March 25, noon-5 p.m.

"We are extremely pleased to give fans the opportunity to behold the grandeur of Miller Park prior to the start of play," Voight said, adding that most of the stadium's public areas will be accessible to visitors on the open house dates. An open house for season ticket holders is set for Fri., March 23, from 4-9 p.m.
