Here's an early present in Bucks fans' stockings: For the first time in more than half a century, Milwaukee will host one of the NBA's high-profile Christmas Day games.
The league revealed the national TV schedule for the first three days of the upcoming 2020-21 season – Dec. 22, 23 and 25 – with the Bucks hosting the second of five games on Christmas Day, a spat against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on ABC. The holiday game will also serve as the team's 2020-21 home opener at Fiserv Forum.
Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounpo and the Bucks have played on Christmas Day – the NBA's biggest regular season, featuring many of the league's marquee teams, players and matchups – for the past two seasons, beating the New York Knicks in 2018 and losing to the Philadelphia 76ers last year. However, both of those games were on the road, while this year's edition at Fiserv Forum will mark will mark the first Christmas Day game held in Milwaukee since the Bucks' inaugural season in 1968.
The only unfortunate part: The historic game will come without much of a home court advantage as the team announced last month that there will be no fans allowed in the stands until further notice due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
The NBA's announcement also revealed the Bucks' season opener: a road game against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Dec. 23, tipping off at 6:30 p.m. on TNT.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
